Moonlight Cinema Presents: The Penguin’s Tax Bill & The Blues

What will likely be remembered throughout history as The Crappy Summer Of 2011 prompted Redhook to recall this Timberland ad from the 90s. Yes, Mother Nature’s been an a-hole this summer — raining out Moonlight Cinema’s opening night, blanketing Seattle with gray weather and scorching everywhere else with triple digits.

Still, Redhook remains undaunted. For the second-to-last Moonlight Cinema of the season, he’ll be showing one of his favorite movies from the 80s — The Blues Brothers. With tons of quotable lines, lots of dumb car chases and some great music, it’s held up remarkably well. As evidence, the Rawhide scene:

We know what you’re saying. “Yeah, that sounds fun. I might come out.” Thank you for saying that. You’re right. It will be fun, so don’t blow it off. There are only two more Moonlight Cinema movies left this year.

Come out this Thursday. The weather’s supposed to rock.

As always, beer taps and gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. Plus, we’re giving away free Blues Brothers-esque dark sunglasses to the first 500 people who show up.
